Good Natured Carpet Freshener Review – An Eco Way to Clean!

Maintaining a clean, fresh-smelling home can be a constant challenge – especially if you are busy and have a lot of carpet in your house. Carpets tend to trap odors, dirt, and hair more than hardwood floors… As someone with a fully carpeted upstairs, I am always looking for ways to keep it clean. Enter Good Natured’s carpet freshener! This powder offers a great option to keep your carpets smelling absolutely incredible. This review will cover what I love about, as well as what could be improved on, the Good Natured Carpet Freshener – let’s jump right into it!

What I Love About the Carpet Freshener:

Firstly, I love that this is an eco-friendly alternative to traditional carpet deodorizers. Many of these products contain harsh chemicals and artificial fragrances that aren’t necessarily good to be lingering around your home. This powder is made with all natural ingredients, just baking soda and essential oils. The non-toxic formula allows it to be biodegradable, which is a huge win for the planet. And it allows it to be pet friendly as well!

Along with it’s sustainability benefits, the carpet freshener is also very easy to use. Just follow these simple steps:

  1. Sprinkle the powder generously over smelly (or stained) sections of the carpet
  2. Let it sit for 10ish minutes
  3. Vacuum the powder up and enjoy your smell-free carpets!

It is easy to use and also does the job well. While I didn’t have any terribly smelly or stained areas to test it on, it made my carpets smell absolutely amazing once I was done sucking it up with the vacuum. The scent I tried was lemon & eucalyptus – a perfect match for making your home smell super duper clean!

Things to Consider

The scent of the powder is downright amazing (and made of natural ingredients instead of fragrances)… But, it is a strong scent that may be considered overpowering to people with sensitive noses. However, this is better than whatever smells were in your carpets beforehand!

Another thing to consider with this powder is how you will vacuum it up. For vacuums with small filters or smart vacuums that have self-emptying capabilities, the powder is so fine that it may need to be manually dumped out of your bagless vacuum. Not a huge deal for most people, but something I wanted to mention regardless.

What Could Be Improved

Like with any review on this blog, it is always important to discuss price. The smaller 31 oz carpet freshener costs about $26, while their largest size costs $45. For a non-essential cleaning product, this can seem high to some. Especially if you are trying to zero waste your cleaning supplies, at this price range it might not convince some to buy it and they would just DIY a version of it themselves (especially if you already have essential oils lying around). That being said, it is a good sustainable option for those looking for a cleaner carpet refresher on the market.

Overall, the Good Natured Carpet Freshener does what it seeks out to do. It’s a more eco-friendly option that actually does help you maintain fresh and clean carpets in your home. While the scent may seem overpowering to some or the price too steep for others, I think it is a great option for those looking to spruce up their carpets. Have you tried a carpet freshener before??

Love,
Jenna ♥
