Hey earth muffins! Today I’m coming at you with another shampoo bar review… It seems like I’ve been reviewing these a lot lately but it’s just because I like to try new ones whenever one is used up. 😀 I picked up this bar from my local zero waste store (something I am so lucky to have nearby!). It is by the brand Tiani Body Care, which is a Michigan company based out of a town near Ann Arbor. Let’s jump right into my Tiani shampoo bar review!

What I Love About This Shampoo Bar

As I mention in all my shampoo bar reviews, I love that this product is naked and creates no packaging waste. I picked it up from the shelf and took it home in my reusable bag – no plastic needed! Bar products look much better in my shower too, which is why I prefer bars to bottles. This product is shaped like an octagon instead of a circle like the bars from Lush. I personally love that it has a flat bottom, as it helps them stand up in my Ethique soap saver container (affiliate link). Plus, the bar is thicker too which makes it easier to hold onto when I am washing my hair.

Hey earth muffins! If you don’t know already, April is “Earth Month” and the eco-friendly festivities all lead up to Friday – Earth Day! While I try my best to live in a way that makes Mother Earth happy every day, I love to treat her extra special on this holiday… And I think you should too. If you aren’t sure how to celebrate this April 22nd, look no further. Here is the ultimate list of fun Earth Day activities to try! 😍

1. Subscribe to a few eco influencers to stay inspired!

On a day like Earth Day, it is easy to join a ton of people in celebrating our planet. But on a normal Tuesday in the middle of the summer, it can be harder to stay inspired to continue being eco-friendly. To make sure your Earth Day activities last longer than just a single day, I recommend subscribing to some eco influencers to keep sustainable living top of mind. Obviously I suggest following me and Life of an Earth Muffin 😉 – but here is a list of my favorite sustainability influencers too!

bookmark_borderHow To Do Some Eco-Friendly Decluttering This Spring!

Hey earth muffins! I hope everyone is getting ready for some fun Easter celebrations this weekend – I know I am! Easter always puts me right into the spring spirit… And springtime often means deep cleaning my home. Last year I even participated in the Less is More Challenge where I decluttered an item every single day of Lent. Is it possible to stay sustainable during the season of tidying up?? Of course it is! 😁 Today I will be sharing my top tips on eco-friendly decluttering – let’s hop right into the post.

The Best Tips for Earth-Friendly Decluttering

To ensure you make the least impact on Mother Earth, it is super important to come up with a decluttering plan. This doesn’t have to be written down (while I would encourage that!); but, it is crucial to know exactly what you want to tackle. Deciding to organize your whole house is extremely overwhelming, so don’t fall into that trap. Pick a couple rooms, a few closets, or even the garage! I like to break my house up into sections: basement, first floor, second floor, and the outdoors. It is more rewarding to me when I can visually see that a whole floor has been completed!

bookmark_borderPublic Goods Lotion Review – A Great Way to Keep Skin Healthy this Spring

Hey earth muffins! As we transition out of winter and into a new season, it is super important to keep our skin healthy and happy… And that means keeping it hydrated! My skin tends to get extra dry whenever the seasons change. Last year I was gifted Public Good’s lotion and have been using it ever since. I posted a short review of it months ago on my Instagram, but I thought I would share a full review of it in today’s post. Let’s jump into my Public Goods lotion review!

What I Love About the Public Goods Lotion

First, this company has a strong value of sustainability. This is obviously a huge positive for me. There are plenty of companies out there that say they are “eco-friendly” and then have no green practices to back it up. Public Goods is not like that! This company only makes products that are good for you AND the planet. Their sustainability values also shine through when you get your package in the mail. My lotion was packed in the smallest box possible with only recyclable packaging. Plus, the lotion bottle itself can be refilled with Public Good’s refill pack.

bookmark_borderEco-Friendly Easter Gifts: What to Put in Your Baskets!

Hey earth muffins! It is crazy to think that Easter is only ten days away. Lent has gone by so fast! I hope everyone is looking forward to spending time with family and friends to celebrate the holiday; I know I definitely am. Most people make some sort of Easter basket… Which can totally be sustainable! 🌎 ❤️Here are my top suggestions for eco-friendly Easter gifts to give this year!

Go with secondhand baskets.

Most of the “Easter” baskets at the store are flimsy and cheaply made these days. Instead, check out the options at your local thrift stores to find baskets of all shapes and colors. You can always find a ton of basket choices secondhand, which makes it easy to avoid those crappy ones elsewhere.

bookmark_borderThe Best DIY All Purpose Cleaner for Spring Cleaning

Hey earth muffins! I love spring for multiple reasons: the end of winter, flowers blooming, and (yes) even spring cleaning. There is something about decluttering and sorting the house that clears my mind and makes me feel more at ease at home. Does anyone agree with me?? While cleaning isn’t the most enjoyable activity, the reward after is always worth it. Plus, you can stay sustainable and zero waste as you clean too! Today I will be sharing my favorite DIY all purpose cleaner with you all – let’s jump right into it!

Why Should You Make Your Own All Purpose Cleaner?

Let’s face it – there is an endless array of cleaners at the store. It is honestly so overwhelming (and smelly) in the cleaning supplies aisle! Along with stressing your brain out with too many options, most cleaners are full of nasty chemicals that aren’t great for you. While they are supposed to keep your house clean, do you really want to breathe in all those toxins when there are other more natural options?? On top of this, many come in plastic bottles too which means they are bad for the environment and typically end up in the landfill. So instead of buying cleaners this spring, I suggest making your own! This is a great way to zero waste your cleaning supplies and keep your household chemical-free.
