I Tried the Goddess Provisions Subscription Box! My Thoughts

Hey earth muffins! When I was brainstorming post ideas the other month, I thought it would be fun to try out an eco-friendly subscription box and share my thoughts with you all. 😊 I’ve always wanted to try out some sort of subscription service, but I never felt like it was super necessary… There are boxes for anything from international snacks to dog toys; I love that there are sustainable options too. In today’s post, I will be sharing my thoughts on the Goddess Provisions subscription box – let’s jump right into it!

Why Did I Choose the Goddess Provisions Subscription Box?

When I first started searching through Cratejoy to pick a box, I went to their “Eco-Friendly” section. While I had all the intentions to pick a box from this section specifically, I decided against it. Most of them seemed to be tailored to people just starting on their eco journeys. That is super fantastic, but I was worried that I would end up getting items that I already own or use alternatives for. That seemed super wasteful and against the whole purpose of getting a sustainable subscription box – what is good about getting another safety razor when I already have one I’ve been using for years?

Instead of these options, I did some digging around the website to find boxes that had eco-friendly values built in… And Goddess Provisions seemed like the box I would like the most! It is focused on helping you grow your “inner goddess” with an emphasis on rituals, crystals, and spirituality. Everything is cruelty-free and vegan; and, for every box that is sold, the company plants a tree too! 🌎 ❀️

What Came in the Box

I ordered the February box from Goddess Provisions, which had the theme “Digital Detox”. It came with the following:

Goddess Provisions February Digital Detox subscription box
  • Greeting cards (4) ~ $12 value
  • Wax seal set ~ $15 value
  • Digital detox retreat journal ~ $22 value
  • Goodio Wild Blueberry Chocolate ~ $7.20 value
  • Chiky Botanica Forest Mist ~ $32 value
  • Red Tiger’s Eye stone ~ $4 value

There was also a QR code that gave you a free month to a mediation app, which made the total value over $100. Since I only spent $33 to get the box, I was pretty happy with what I received.

What I Loved About the Box

First off, I loved that the subscription box was just that – a box in the mail. There was no extra packaging and very little tape, which makes it super easy to either reuse or recycle curbside. Plus, they took the time to pick products that had little eco touches to them (like the greeting cards were made of 100% recycled paper and came in compostable packaging).

I was also super excited to get the digital detox journal, as I actually have a mini retreat booked for myself in April. I will be heading to an Airbnb to spend a much needed weekend with no electronics after tax season is finally wrapped up; so, I am saving this journal for that adventure. The wax seal kit was super exciting to receive as well. I always wanted one as a kid when I went through my “wizard phase” but never could justify purchasing one myself… Now I have no excuse to seal up my cards and letters! 😊

The vegan chocolate was delicious (as most chocolate is). I couldn’t taste a whole lot of blueberry overall, but no complaints about a tasty treat. The Botanica mist smells like the forest, but it has some hints of orange citrus to it as well. I have been spraying it in the shower and letting the steam smell up the bathroom – an absolutely great way to relax! Random crystals and stones are always a hit with me too. I keep some on my desk and place some in my plants’ pots as well.

Final Thoughts – Would I Order it Again?

While a subscription box is not the most eco-friendly thing in the world (due to shipping), I love that there are brands that have sustainability built into them regardless. I’ve always been a huge fan of getting surprises in the mail. But, I don’t get as many packages anymore since I try to shop local. Subscribing to one subscription box is a great way to treat yourself and add a little extra self care to your month. Just make sure the brand centers around Mother Earth too! I signed up to receive a few more Goddess Provisions subscription boxes – as I’m writing this post, my second post just got dropped off in the mailbox! πŸŽ‰ Are you subscribed to any subscription boxes? 1. Okay, everything in this box is totally up my alley. That mist must smell amazing. And I love the crystal as well. Always good to have things like that on hand!
