In the world of sustainable makeup, finding products that are versatile, good for the planet, and effective can be a game-changer. Especially for those with busy lifestyles, having a product that can do multiple things is a great way to reduce the amount of time needed to get ready in the morning. Hello Wink kindly sent me a few of their All Over Colors Sticks to try out; I am more than happy to share my thoughts with you all today! Here’s an in-depth review of these multi-use color sticks, exploring their performance, sustainability, and overall value.
What I Love About Hello Wink’s Color Sticks:
First up, I love that Hello Wink values sustainability through and through. Their color sticks are packaged in plastic-free tubes. Like many natural deodorants I have tried in the past, this tube acts like a push-up pop to get the product out. Not only this, but they are shipped in plastic-free boxes too. Once you use up the stick, you can just compost it. I absolutely love makeup packaged this way!
These color sticks work great and a little goes a long way. They are multi-use and can be used as bronzer, contour, highlight, eyeshadow, blush, and/or lip balm. I love multi-use products because you can keep your makeup routine simple. It allows you to minimize the products you use and focus on those sustainable ones!
Currently, there are 17 versatile colors of all shades from light to dark. Obviously not all colors can be used for every purpose, so I recommend getting a lighter shade and a darker one (minimum). I use the Star Dust one for highlight and eyeshadow and then my darker High Priestess shade as lip balm and blush.
I also like that these color sticks are made with cleaner ingredients compared to many other drugstore makeup products. The main ingredients are candelilla wax and shea butter which give them a great texture when applying to the face.
What Could Be Improved:
Like with any review on this blog, it is important to mention price. Each color stick is $13. While this price might seem like a lot for one product, you must remember that this is multi-purpose. It can replace multiple items in your makeup routine! If you are a person that likes a lot of shades, it could get pricey… But, I think in terms of sustainability it is well worth what you get.
