Seanik Lush Shampoo Bar Review: What I Love About It!

Hey earth muffins! It has been a little bit since I shared a shampoo bar review…. So let’s fix that! 😍 I’ve almost tried every single Lush shampoo at this point, so I figured I would continue my tradition of sharing what I think about the one I’m currently trying out. With the promise of giving you big, beachy hair, is the Seanik bar worth it??

What I Love About Seanik

In terms of sustainability, bars are always better than bottles. I love using shampoo bars because you can avoid all packaging waste. Not having a hideous, brightly-colored plastic bottle in your shower is also a huge win. The bar is made of condensed materials, which means it lasts much longer than liquid shampoo because it hasn’t been diluted by water.

The Seanik bar works extremely well too! It cleanses all the oils and impurities from my hair after a long day. This particular bar is meant to increase volume as well… And it definitely does that! My hair is quite curly, so the extra volume really helps my hair look perfect for the day without having to do much styling to it. Perfect beachy waves inspired by the seaweed and sea salt in the bar!

The smell of the Seanik bar isn’t overwhelming like Honey I Washed My Hair. The ingredients all come from the sea so it has an earthy yet citrusy scent to it. Even the website describes this bar as “lightly scented” which I would agree with 100%.

What Could Be Better

As I’ve mentioned in other Lush shampoo bar reviews, I absolutely hate that they add brightly colored dyes into their products. This bar is neon blue (and I mean extremely neon). While I understand it is supposed to give “ocean” vibes, I don’t want all those dyes on my hair or in my shower. It is such a pain to have to scrub off the blue stains this bar creates!

I also dislike the fact that there are large pieces of seaweed in the shampoo bar. This isn’t that comfortable when lathering the product in your hands. Just like the large citrus slices in the Montalbano bar, I could definitely do without those. Since I purchased this bar, Lush has rebranded the design of their shampoo bars… Some of the large attachments have been removed (thank god!), but it looks like the seaweed is there to stay in the Seanik bar.

Pin now to save later!

My overall thoughts of the Seanik bar are quite positive. As it gives my curls extra volume, it is one of my favorite Lush shampoo bars to date! While you may have to deal with blue stains in your tub and scratchy seaweed chunks, I would recommend giving this bar a try. What shampoo bar are you trying currently? Comment below and let me know which Lush shampoo is your favorite!

Love,
Jenna ♥

  1. I’m glad this works well, but I can certainly understand why the dyes are an issue. It just doesn’t seem necessary. I wouldn’t want to deal with that either!
