Hey earth muffins! Are you a member of any eco-friendly groups in your city? An awesome way to make an impact on the community AND the planet is to get involved with others who care about Mother Earth. Don’t worry – it’s easy to join eco organizations too! Just follow these simple tips:
Do a quick search of the groups in your area.
The first step to join eco organizations is to (obviously) learn about all the groups in your area. Google is a great place to start if you aren’t sure of what is around you. Another great resource is to ask the owners and/or staff of sustainable stores in town. They most likely will be involved with the local organizations already, which is a great way to learn about opportunities in your area. Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and ask.
Get out there and volunteer!
Once you know what eco organizations are around you, make a list of your favorites and start getting involved. This might mean joining Facebook groups, signing up for a newsletter, etc. Get excited to volunteer and make a difference while doing so!
Make it a priority to stay involved.
I get it, everyone is busy… But, you will prioritize the things that are important to you. Hopefully one of those things is Mother Earth! 🌎 ❤️ You don’t need to be volunteering every single week, but make sure you stay active in the eco orgs in your community. I promise that you’ll make a lot of friends doing this too!
Join a board!
If you want to make an even bigger difference, try joining the board of a local eco non-profit. Especially since COVID, many non-profits are looking for active earth muffins to be on their boards. This isn’t a much bigger time commitment either – typically a board meeting each month.
There you have it – my tips on how you can join eco organizations in your community. While making small changes in your daily life does have an impact, you can make an even bigger impact when you join other like-minded individuals where you live.
