Ways to Put Down Your Phone & Enjoy Mother Earth This Spring

Hey earth muffins! Spring weather is (finally) here to stay, which means it is time to spend more time outside! Spring is an excellent season to get extra Vitamin D and enjoy all that nature has to offer us after a long, cold winter. Keep reading for a few suggestions on easy ways to put down your phone and enjoy Mother Earth in the upcoming months!

~ Plant a garden or do some landscaping

Spring flowers are such a beautiful sign that winter is behind us… And it is the perfect time to do a bit of outdoor work. Plant some of your favorite flowers, do some weeding, or make sure your landscaping looks great. Don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty!

~ Go on a hike

Spring is a nice time for hiking because it isn’t as hot as the summer months. Take advantage of the breezy days and hit your favorite nature trails. If you don’t live by any good hiking spots, find a nature preserve where you can take a long stroll in nature. Take time to stop and smell all of the gorgeous spring flowers too!

~ Turn your compost bin!

If you have a backyard compost bin, the early days of spring are a good time to give it some air. Especially if you have tumbler bin like I do, these typically freeze solid during the winter. When it has thawed, give it some extra turns so that the compost will be ready to use in your spring planting!

~ Read outside

For those who want to relax with Mother Earth this spring, reading outside is such a fun way to do that. Get your latest book, find a sunny spot, and read for a couple of hours. There is nothing better than a bit of sun as you read.
