Hey earth muffins! If you are looking to reduce your impact in the bathroom, swapping to bar products is a great suggestion. I’ve been testing out a ton of shampoo bars over the years… And, recently, a new conditioner as well! When I ordered from Ethique this summer I was able to choose a free mini bar; I picked the Guardian conditioner. Now that I’ve been able to test it out for a bit, I thought it would be the perfect time to share my Guardian conditioner review with you all. Let’s jump right into it!
What I Love About This Product
First of all, I love that Ethique is a truly sustainable company. I have tried a bunch of their products over the years and have never been disappointed. They strive to reduce their impact throughout the whole production process – from quality ingredients to how they ship their packages with minimal waste. Bar products are always better than plastic bottles which is another reason I am totally for a conditioner bar.
This bar also works really well! The conditioner is easy to apply and makes my hair feel extra soft. I’ve even noticed my hair is less frizzy on nights I use this, which is great for the current changing weather. As with most conditioners, it is best to apply to the ends of your hair for the best results.
I’m personally glad this product was in mini form as well! The adorable heart shape is perfect for travel and easily fits with a mini shampoo bar in a travel tin. The smaller bar also makes it easier to hold in your hand as you apply the conditioner. The packaging says it will last 15 uses, but it will actually last much longer than that!
Like with any review on Life of an Earth Muffin, I just have to talk about price in this Guardian conditioner review. I think $6.50 is a great price for this mini bar (or even better as a freebie!), as it lasts a long time. For $18 you can get the full bar which can be used about 120 times… Definitely comparable in price to other conditioners on the market.
What Could Be Improved
The first thing I wasn’t a fan of is that this bar doesn’t lather much. This isn’t a huge deal since it is a conditioner, not a shampoo. For people who like a good lather, this will disappoint.
The only other negative of this bar is that it doesn’t really have a smell. This personally doesn’t bother me, but I know a lot of people love their bath products to make them smell extra nice. The website says it should smell like lime, but I definitely don’t smell that at all. Maybe the full size bar has a more powerful scent…
Overall, I really like the Guardian conditioner bar! It is a great conditioner that leaves my hair feeling silky smooth. AND it’s made by a company I trust in terms of sustainability. Especially as a freebie option, you can’t go wrong with trying this product! Have you tried any Ethique products before??
Love,
Jenna ♥
