The Best Vinyl Records: The Favorites in my Collection!

Hey earth muffins! Today’s post is a little different than my usual content on this blog. Back in December when I bought my house, I knew I wanted to purchase a record player for my office. My parents decided to buy it for me for Christmas – and I began my vinyl purchases. 😊 I buy all my records from yard sales, antique shops, and a local record store. It is so fun to hunt for treasures! Without further to do, here are the best vinyl records in my collection.

For Twisters Only, Chubby Checker

I’ve always enjoyed oldies over modern day music… The 50’s and 60’s had such happy bops that you can’t help but dance a little whenever you listen! πŸ˜… Chubby Checker had some real hits in my opinion, and this album includes all the best twists of the 60’s. From “Hound Dog” to “Twist Train” to “Blueberry Hill”, you really can’t go wrong.

Petula Clark’s Greatest Hits, Petula Clark

Petula Clark’s “Downtown” is an iconic song, but she has some other great tunes too. I’m a huge fan of buying the “greatest hits” of an artist because it typically includes all of the songs I enjoy. There isn’t a song I don’t like on this record!

50 of the Greatest Rock ‘n’ Roll Groups

I found this vinyl at my local record store for only $4. It has a ton of songs I used to dance to in my parent’s basement when I was little, after raiding their old CDs. So, it was a no brainers to add this into my collection. “Little Darlin’ ” by The Diamonds, “My Boyfriend’s Back” by The Angels, etc. etc. All awesome hits from the best early rock ‘n’ roll groups.

The Four Seasons Story, The Four Seasons

My favorite group of all time is The Four Seasons. 😍 Frankie Valli is an ICON, and I buy basically every Four Seasons album I find when shopping secondhand. This is one of my favorites just because it has every major hit they have ever done from the start of the group to their modern music. Such a great way to jam out to all my favorite songs!

Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head

My local record store has a $1 room that is filled with boxes of records that are either donated or purchased by the store owner from people who are getting rid of them. Unlike the other records in the store that are played and cleaned before being priced, these are a “buy at your own risk” situation. I just saw the Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head on it and thought I would give this a try…. And what a great record it is! A bunch of smooth jazz and piano covers that are perfect for cuddling up with a blanket and reading a book.

Pin now to read later!

While these are my “favorites” I obviously have a ton of other records that I love to play. This includes my growing Broadway collection with records from Annie, The Sound of Music, West Side Story, Fiddler on the Roof, and a bunch of others. 😊 Records are such a fun way to listen to music; it is also fun to find treasures in secondhand stores. Do you have a record player? Comment below and let me know what music you like to listen to!

  1. Oh, this post made me so happy! I have a record player as well and have always loved looking through different thrift stores for hidden treasures from the past. My favourite records are from John Denver and David Cassidy, but your records look SO fabulous. Definitely some great finds!
