The Best Plant-Based Fast Food Options – My Favorite Quick & Easy Places to Eat

Hey earth muffins! In a recent post, I shared my tips on how to eat plant-based at a restaurant without just getting salad all the time. I love a good salad, but it is nice to have more options to choose from. For those of us on plant-based diets, it can be harder to eat at fast food places… But I’ve found that a few chains are super accomodating! 😊 Here are my favorite plant-based fast food options – let me know if you have others that aren’t on this list.

Taco Bell

In my opinion, Taco Bell is the holy grail when it comes to vegetarian options. They have a whole section of their menu called “Veggie Cravings” that is full of bean and potato options. My favorite Taco Bell hack is that you can order any of your favorite items and just replace the meat with black beans. Such a great way to reduce your meat consumption even if you aren’t on a plant-based diet! I typically go for the Black Bean Chalupa Supreme – it is so tasty! 🌮

Burger King

Burger King was one of the first places to have a plant-based fast food option with the Impossible Whopper. This burger is totally vegan (and tastes surprisingly similar to an actual hamburger). I’m not someone who craves a burger on a regular basis, but if I’m traveling on the road this is typically a place my family will stop at since it has options for everyone.

Noodles & Company

I used to treat myself to Noodles after big exams at college. And I can still get my favorite dishes because they are vegetarian! Favorite dish number 1: Wisconsin Mac and Cheese. Not healthy at all, but such a good mac 😍 Favorite number 2: Japanese pan noodles (with penne instead of udon noodles). The last time I went to Noodles was a few months ago; they have a bunch of new items on their menu from tortelloni to zoodles to cauliflower pasta. It is super nice to have plenty of plant-based options!

Subway

Compared to other sandwich chains, I think Subway has the best veggie options. You can load your sub with as many vegetables as you want, including things like avocado spread. For those pescatarians, their tuna sandwich is also really good. Other fast food sandwich places don’t typically have more than a few veggies (I’m looking at you Jimmy Johns), so it is nice to be able to stack your sub high with vegetables galore!

What’s Your Favorite Plant-Based Option?

Even with a vegan or vegetarian diet, you can totally find plant-based fast food options at your local chains. I try to limit my fast food because it creates a lot of waste; but, every once in awhile doesn’t hurt. Just make sure to minimize your waste while eating fast food! 👍 The restaurants listed above are typically my go-tos when I am in need of a quick meal. Did your favorite places make the list?
