Hey earth muffins! When I started my eco journey, I found that making swaps in the bathroom was the easiest place to start. A great first step is to find reusable alternatives to single-use items: Q-tips, cotton pads, etc. Seek Bamboo kindly gifted me some of their bamboo reusable makeup remover pads to try out; so, I thought I would share a full review with you all today. First up, here’s what I love about this sustainable product:
What I Love About These Makeup Rounds
I absolutely love that these reusable makeup rounds are truly sustainable. Just think about all the single-use pads you will save if you buy a set of these! On top of the reusability aspect of the product, they are made of bamboo. Bamboo is a great eco-friendly material… It is much better for the planet than cotton!
Like I mentioned in my Seek Bamboo toilet paper review, the company showcases their sustainability values with how the product is packaged as well. These reusable makeup remover pads are packed in cylinder tubes that fit the pads perfectly – no wasted packaging here! Also, they are shipped to your house in minimal, plastic-free packaging too.
Another great thing about these rounds is that they work extremely well! They are thicker and softer than your typical single-use pad, which makes it better for taking off makeup or applying toner. Once you have used the pad, just pop into your next load of laundry and hang to dry. Ta-da, reusable rounds for years to come! 😍
Other Things I Like About Seek Bamboo Makeup Rounds
Another good thing about this product is that it is cost effective over the long term. You might think it is crazy to spend $17 on a set of 20 makeup rounds, but think about how much you will save over their useful life. These pads can be used for years and will require you to purchase nothing else. No refills of those single-use rounds ever again! Definitely will be a cost saver down the road (and of course, much better for Mother Earth too!).
The last thing I wanted to mention as a “pro” is that these come with a cute little storage bag. I personally use this bag to hold the dirty rounds until my next load of laundry. Then I just throw in the bag so that the reusable pads don’t get lost in the wash! The bag is also perfect for keeping them in place during travel as well.
What Could Be Improved
The only downside that I could think of is the fact that the white reusable cotton rounds can get stained easily. If you use them to take off your makeup (aka black mascara or foundation), chances are those stains will not fully come out in the wash. The easiest solution – buy Seek Bamboo’s charcoal cotton rounds instead! Or just deal with a little staining since you will just continue to reuse them regardless. 🙃
In conclusion, you definitely need to try out Seek Bamboo‘s reusable makeup rounds! They are good for the planet, work extremely well, and are cost effective for the long term.
