Introducing Seek Bamboo Toilet Paper: A Sustainable Alternative

Hey earth muffins! Without a doubt we all use toilet paper in the bathroom. Even if you have a bidet, you still have to use some sort of TP… So what is an eco-friendly alternative to using all this paper? Before you jump into reusable toilet paper (which is actually a thing), I suggest trying out bamboo TP. Seek Bamboo kindly sent me some to try out, so I thought I would share a full review with you all today. Let’s jump right into it!

What I Love About This Toilet Paper

First off, I love that bamboo toilet paper is totally sustainable! It’s not a shock that pandas love bamboo – it is a great eco-friendly plant that grows extremely fast. Some even call it the fastest growing plant on the earth! Because it grows quickly, it doesn’t have a large negative effect on the planet when it is cut and turned into consumer goods. The alternative is to cut down trees which grow quite slow… Seek Bamboo’s toilet paper is 100% tree-free, which is awesome for the planet (and you!).

Seek Bamboo showcases their sustainability values with how the product is packaged as well. The wrapper around the toilet paper can be tossed right into your compost bin; AND, your products are shipped in minimal, plastic-free packaging. I’ve always been a fan of companies that truly live their values, so this was a huge “pro” for me.

When it comes to the actual toilet paper, I love it!! 😊 It is 3-ply which makes it thicker than other brands of TP I have used in the past. The bamboo gives it a lovely soft texture, which honestly feels better on your bum than “normal” cotton paper.

What I Like About Seek Bamboo Toilet Paper

Because it is made of bamboo, the toilet paper isn’t pure white. Instead, it is a tan/light brown color… And (oddly enough), I actually really like that it isn’t white. Other toilet papers are white because they are dyed, which seems stupid considering it touches our most sensitive parts. The tan color of Seek Bamboo’s TP is a daily reminder that I am opting for a sustainable, dye-free alternative.

Another positive to this product is that the price is comparable to other 3-ply toilet papers. The cost of a 24 pack is $40; this comes to about $1.67 a roll. I used to use Scotts which was definitely thinner and less good, but it only costs about $1 a roll. If you are used to the thicker, more luxurious rolls, these are about $1.33-$1.50 a roll… So, I’d say this toilet paper is in line with some of the “better” toilet paper brands. It is a tree-free version that is much better for the planet, which is totally worth the small premium you pay!

What Could Be Improved

Since price was a pro for this product, there isn’t much to say about this bamboo toilet paper in terms of cons. The only thing I can come up with is that the texture of the TP is a bit different than your “normal” toilet paper. This is obviously because the main ingredient in the paper is bamboo not cotton. The difference is super subtle and something you get used to quickly, but I thought I would still mention it in this review.
