Introducing Zerra & Co Eyeshadow: A Zero Waste Makeup Staple

Hey earth muffins! When I recently bought a replacement low waste mascara, I decided to splurge on a new eyeshadow as well. I picked out this pearly pink loose mineral eyeshadow by Zerra & Co and have been absolutely loving it ever since. For today’s post, I will share what I love (and what could be improved) about this product. Let’s jump right into it!

What I Love About This Product

The first thing I love about this eyeshadow is that it is zero waste. Zerra & Co has been on my radar for a long time, as they have a great collection of low waste makeup products. Their mascara is excellent, so I knew their sustainability values would translate to their eyeshadows as well. The product is fully eco-friendly and comes in a cute little glass jar with a bamboo lid. It is shipped in 100% compostable and recyclable shipping materials too, which makes it a great plastic-free option. Zerra also has a container return program if you can’t find a way to reuse your empty jar. 😊

Along with its incredible sustainable perks, the eyeshadow itself works great AND looks amazing. I tried out the shade “Pearl” – a gorgeous light pink color with lots of eco-friendly glitter. It is perfect for my fair skin and blue eyes; I bet it would even work great as a highlight too! Please note that this is a loose product – it isn’t a pressed shadow. I’ve used loose mineral eyeshadows before, but just a heads up that you will need some sort of eyeshadow brush to apply this.

Another great pro to this product is its price. The 1.5 gram jar is only $10, which is extremely comparable to other mineral shadows on the market. A little goes a long way too, so I know this will last me at least a year. And think about all the benefits to Mother Earth of supporting a zero waste company! If you are interested in buying a bunch of zero waste makeup at once, Zerra has you covered. All US orders over $35 ship free; therefore, it is even more cost effective for your wallet.

What Could Be Improved

I don’t have anything that negative to say about this product. It has easily become my favorite sustainable eyeshadow as it can be worn every day regardless of how casual or fancy I need to look. The only bad thing is that the loose pigments (obviously) move around in the jar if you end up traveling with it. Some pigments can get stuck along the rim of the jar; just be careful to open the lid over a sink or trash as you might get glitter all over yourself! If you tap the jar a few times on the counter before opening, most of the eyeshadow will fall back where it should be… But be careful nonetheless!

Overall, I am a huge fan of Zerra & Co loose mineral eyeshadow. The color is the perfect pink neutral that is definitely buildable and full of shimmery glitter for any occasion. The company truly does live their sustainability values, which makes this a great zero waste addition to your makeup collection! Even the price is comparable to a lot of eyeshadows on the market… Just be careful when opening the product after it has been moved around a lot. 😅 Have you tried any eyeshadows from Zerra & Co? Comment below and let me know if I should try their pressed eyeshadows next!

Love,
Jenna ♥
