Hey earth muffins! When I started my eco journey all the way back in 2018, I started a list of sustainable products I wanted to try. The No Tox Life dish washing block is one of the items on this list (affiliate link)! 😊 I recently purchased it through the Tera app and have been trying it out. If you are looking to make a simple swap in your kitchen for a more zero waste home, keep reading for a full review of this product!
What I Love About the No Tox Life Dish Block
First up, I (obviously) love that this is a sustainable dish bar. Instead of using dish soap in a plastic container, you can opt for this bar instead. Bars are much better than bottles for the planet; I absolutely love that this is an easy zero waste swap. The dish block comes in a recyclable box which makes it plastic-free as well!
This dish block works great too! 🎉 It suds up quickly which makes it perfect if you need to hand wash any dishes. Using a dishwasher is the more eco-friendly choice, but this is a great alternative if you do need to hand wash. I personally use it with a bamboo brush and it lathers easily every time.
No Tox Life also uses clean, vegan ingredients in their products… Another thing to love about this dish bar! I’m always one to select simple, non-toxic items, and (luckily) many sustainable products are this way. So awesome that this bar can clean well with plant-derived ingredients.
Let’s talk about price – it’s a pro for this review! A 6 oz No Tox Life dish block is only $10 on Amazon. While this might seem high, it is a positive because the bar literally will last over a year. Because it isn’t watered down into liquid form like other dish soaps, a small bar will still last a ton of dish washes. Definitely a great zero waste product for the price!
What Could Be Improved
The only negative I’ve experienced with this product is that it can get a bit slippery when wet. This is to be expected as a bar of dish soap; but, I wish it wouldn’t be so slippery so that I could keep my bamboo brush on top of it when I’m done with the dishes. Not a huge issue at all, as I just keep my brush next to the soap bar/container on the sink.
If you are looking for an easy way to reduce your impact in the kitchen, I would highly suggest trying out a dish washing bar! As you can see by this review, I absolutely love it. It is sustainable, works well, and is a good price for what you get. Very happy I tried it out after so many years! Have you tried a dish washing block before?
