Another Great Shampoo Bar: Soak and Float Lush Review!

Hey earth muffins! If you are looking for an eco-friendly swap in the bathroom, I recommend switching to a shampoo bar. Lush has a ton of great ones to try out… I’ve tried a bunch of them so far; today I’ll be sharing my thoughts on the Soak and Float shampoo bar. Keep reading for everything I love (and dislike) about this sustainable product!

What I Love About This Shampoo Bar

The first pro of this shampoo bar is that it is a great sustainable alternative to typical shampoos. No plastic bottle, no packaging, and no watered down shampoo. It is always better to choose bar over bottles because they are a much more eco, zero waste swap. Lush does a great job with shipping (if you can’t pick up the bar in a local Lush store). The box it comes in is small and fits the product exactly. I love that this brand uses water soluble packing peanuts too!

The Soak and Float bar aims to target irritated and dry scalps. While I personally don’t think I could use this every day, it is nice that there is a sustainable shampoo bar for those who need this as a daily wash. It’s main ingredients are rose and cade oil for a lovely soothing, cleansing, and calming.

I’m a big fan of the smell too! Lush describes it as having a “strong campfire smell” which I don’t really agree with… It smells like flowers (especially the rose) with a subtle hint of pine needles and smoke. It definitely isn’t as strong as some of their other scents (Honey I Washed my Hair, New) which is a plus for me.

What Could Be Improved with the Soak and Float Lush Bar

Like with all reviews on this blog, price is something to note. The Soak and Float Lush bar will cost you $16. Most of their bars are $15; so, it must be priced slightly higher because it is meant to help with dry scalps. Depending on the shampoo you typically buy, this price may seem reasonable or too high. But, it is important to remember that it will last longer because it is concentrated… I personally find shampoo bars totally worth it.

One thing I hate about Lush shampoo bars is that they often add in large ingredients and/or pizzazz for decorations. Montalbano had a huge chunk of citrus attached to it, New had a large wooden stick – totally unnecessary and makes the product harder to use. For this shampoo bar, it has a ton of dried flowers added throughout. This makes the bar scratchy and hard on the hands when you are lathering. Definitely could have gone without those!

Overall, I think the Soak and Float Lush shampoo bar is another great alternative to bottled shampoo. Such a great option for those with a dry scalp! The scent is lovely AND it is reasonably priced too. What shampoo bar are you currently using? Comment below and let me know your favorite Lush product!

Love,
Jenna ♥
