Tangie Stain Remover Review – A Zero Waste Stain Stick

In a journey towards a more sustainable lifestyle, finding effective and eco-friendly alternatives to common household products is crucial. One area to make changes is in the laundry room. There are plenty of ways to zero waste your laundry – including using detergents in powder form and dryer balls. But, did you know you can also find sustainable stain sticks too? Tangie has a bar stain remover that promises a powerful cleaning solution while adhering to zero waste principles. Here’s a complete Tangie stain remover review – and why you should try out this product too!

How to Use the Stain Stick

Tangie’s stain stick is a solid bar, similar to shampoo and conditioner bars which I have reviewed often on this blog. Having it in bar form completely eliminates the need for plastic packaging and a watered down product. To use, simply wet the fabric with the stain, rub the bar on it, and launder as usual. When it comes out, the stain will be gone! Whenever you aren’t using the stick, store it in its box so that it stays nice and dry.

What I Love About the Product

The real test of any stain remover is its effectiveness. I have found that Tangie’s stain stick does an excellent job of removing stains. Especially for items I thrift that have suspicious stains on them, I haven’t found anything that can’t be removed by this stick. The box says it can be used for anything from blood to grass; it can even be used on things outside of clothes (like pillows, carpets, etc.) too!

Like with all the other products I review on this blog, I also love that this stain stick is sustainable. The product’s solid form eliminates the need for plastic packaging, and it came in a recyclable mailer. Because it is concentrated into a bar (and not watered down in a plastic bottle), it will last you a long time too! By using this stain stick, consumers can significantly reduce the number of chemicals and plastics introduced into the environment.

I like that Tangie’s stain stick is made with cleaner ingredients than other stain removing products. The full ingredient list: coconut oil, water, sodium hydroxide, lemon juice, and Borax. Much more pronounceable ingredients compared to other laundry products.

The stick form of this stain remover is not only eco-friendly but also user-friendly. It’s easy to apply directly to stains without any drips or mess, which is often a drawback of liquid stain removers. The compact design makes it easy to store and ideal for travel or on-the-go applications—perfect for quick fixes when you’re away from home.

What Could Be Improved

Initially, the cost of Tangie’s stain stick may seem higher than that of conventional stain removers. On Tangie’s website they are selling it for $8.25; however, I scored mine on Flora.co for less than $5! Considering its longevity and effectiveness, I don’t think either option is a bad price for what you get. The stick lasts significantly longer than most liquid alternatives, meaning you won’t need to replace it as frequently. In addition, the eco-friendly benefits definitely outweigh the cost of purchase.

  1. What a wonderful surprise to see this post!!! Thank you so much for sharing your experience using the Tangie stain remover stick. xoxo
I am Angie of Tangie 😀
I work hard to formulate effective products, that are not only safe for us, but also leave low to no waste behind once the product is gone.

Laundry products are traditionally so wasteful, with unnecessary plastic packaging and harmful ingredients and fragrance.
The Tangie brand started in my laundry room back in 2010 with the formulation of the laundry concentrate bar, designed out of necessity to alleviate my own skin issues from store bought laundry liquids.
The stain remover followed shortly after because every laundry routine needs a good stain removing sidekick. 💪
I really appreciate you helping to spread the Tangie love.
