Easy Ways to Use the Five Love Languages for Mother Earth!

Hey earth muffins! Have you ever heard about the five love languages? Basically, all people give and receive their love in five different ways. You can take a quiz online to figure out your own expressions of love (if you don’t know already). These “languages” are used whenever you show your love to your partner, family, friends, etc…. So why not use these five love languages to show Mother Earth how much you love her?? ❤️ 🌎 In today’s post I’m going to share easy ways to express your love for each of the different types – let’s jump right into it!

Physical Touch

For people who express their love with physical touch, nothing speaks louder than physical affection. You obviously can’t hold hands or cuddle with the planet, so here are some alternative ways to use this language:

Do some gardening or landscaping
Volunteer for an ocean or beach cleanup

Whenever you find yourself in nature, don’t forget to run your hands through the dirt or water!

Words of Affirmation

If you express love through words of affirmation, you will use words, praise, appreciation, etc. This can easily be used to share your love of the planet by:

Spreading the word about eco-friendly living!
Talking about your sustainable living habits with family and friends
Sharing eco tips on social media

Commenting/supporting your favorite eco influencers
Recommending sustainable reads or documentaries to your friends

Quality Time

Quality time = undivided, uninterrupted attention. Some of my favorite ways to spend quality time with Mother Earth are:

Soaking up some sun outside!
Having a zero waste picnic with friends
Taking a long walk and enjoying nature

Dipping my toes in the lake or ocean
Journaling or reading outdoors

Receiving Gifts

Expressing your love with gifts includes not only the gift itself but the time and thought put into it. You can’t necessarily buy the planet a gift, but you can do the following instead:

Make a donation to a local eco organization
Give your time by volunteering for a planet supporting cause

Reduce the waste you create that is sent to the landfill! (Which is definitely a gift to Mother Earth)

Acts of Service

Acts of service are doing nice things for others that makes them feel loved and appreciated. There are plenty of ways to use this love language for the planet:

Pick up litter in your neighborhood
Go out of your way to make sustainable changes in your life!

Go to a climate rally or protest
Make sure to compost all your food waste and recycle anything you can
