Hey earth muffins! In my recent 8 Eco-Friendly Products You Can Find at Target post, I mentioned that they carry a wide selection of plastic-free deodorants. I have tried and reviewed the Native deodorant, so once that ran out I thought it was the perfect time to try another plastic-free deodorant on the market. ๐ I’ve absolutely loved the Hey Humans toothpaste that comes in an aluminum tube… So I was hopeful I would find success with their sustainable deodorant as well. Let’s jump right into my Hey Humans deodorant review!
What I LOVE About Hey Humans Plastic-Free Deodorant
Obviously I love that this deodorant is plastic-free. From the time I started my eco-friendly journey, I have tried deodorants that came in anything from jars to tubes… And I think plastic-free tubes are the easiest to apply! Especially if you are new to the sustainability sphere, the design of this deodorant is not too far off from what you would be used to using. I try my hardest to support brands that are truly planet friendly; I love that Hey Humans has only plastic-free containers for their deos. Add on that they use aluminum tubes for their toothpaste and you can’t go wrong!
This Hey Humans deodorant review must address if the product works or not… And it definitely does! ๐ Natural deodorants can be tricky (especially since many of them aren’t antiperspirants). In my review of the Native plastic-free deodorant, I mentioned that it was my favorite. Now, the Hey Humans has replaced Native as my go-to deodorant! It keeps me smelling great and feeling fresh all day. I tried out the Lavendar Vanilla scent, but the other flavors smell great as well.
As I mentioned above, the plastic-free tube is super easy to use. It has a “push pop” design where you can access more product by pushing from the bottom of the tube. When I was using Native deodorant, their tube could be a bit finicky at times. The piece of cardboard that you used to push on would slide to the bottom of the tube, which would allow the deodorant to slide out of view too. The Hey Humans deodorant is a harder consistency, so I have had no troubles with the plastic-free tube. What a win!
The last pro for this deodorant is the price. At only $4.99 it is much more comparable to other less eco-friendly products on the market. Native plastic-free deodorant will put you out about $12, so I love that Hey Humans has a lower price to make it more accessible to everyone. The product is totally worth this price in my opinion!
What Could Be Improved On
In all honestly, I haven’t found much wrong with this deodorant. As I mentioned above, the deo itself is a harder consistency than Native. If you allow it to get too cold, you might not be able to push it up as you need to. This happened to me when I first opened the product because it had been sitting in my cold car… Don’t worry though, there is an easy fix! Just hold it in your hands to warm up the deodorant a bit. Then, it will work perfectly. Other than this tiny user flaw, I haven’t found anything else I would improve in this product! ๐
Final Thoughts on the Hey Humans Deodorant Review
Overall, I highly recommend the Hey Humans plastic-free deodorant. It is sustainable, it works great, it smells amazing, and it has a perfect price. While the deodorant can be hard to push up if it gets too cold, this is easily solved by 1) keeping it at a warm temperature or 2) warming it up in your hands until it can be pushed up.
