What I Love About Koala Eco Cleaner
Like most of the products I review on this blog, this kitchen cleaner is truly sustainable. The brand bleeds sustainability through and through. The box it is shipped in is recyclable (and even has a cool built in bottle holder so that there is no need for bubble wrap or packing peanuts). The cleaner itself is biodegradable and the bottles are made of 100% recycled plastic AND are recyclable after use. Pretty awesome! 😊
The Koala Eco cleaner also works great in the kitchen. It easily cleans any surface and disinfects it too. While it says it is a “kitchen” cleaner, I use it for other rooms of the house too. It keeps my bathroom sink nice and sparkly clean! Definitely a great alternative if you don’t want to make your own DIY all-purpose cleaner.
On top of it working well, this cleaner also smells amazing! The label says there is a mix of lemon myrtle and mandarin essential oils… I’m not entirely sure what lemon myrtle smells like, as the mandarin/citrus scent is the most powerful note. It makes the kitchen smell absolutely divine! I love that they use essential oils instead of fragrances, which are so much better for you to breathe in when cleaning.
What Could Be Improved
A Koala Eco review wouldn’t be complete without mentioning price. A 24 oz bottle of this product costs $14… This is pretty high compared to other cleaners on the market. It is also obviously more expensive than making your own all-purpose spray using ingredients in your pantry. But, you have to think about the sustainability of the product (as well as the fact that it is all natural, vegan, and made with quality essential oils) to justify the price.
The last thing I wanted to mention is that the cleaner can leave a shiny residue on certain surface. I assume this is because of the essential oils, as I’ve only noticed it on my wood kitchen table. I got the table secondhand so I wonder if there is some sort of sealant or coating on top that the essential oils get attached to. Not a huge deal, as you can just easily wipe off the residue with a paperless paper towel.
Overall, I would highly recommend checking out Koala Eco! They have a great line of cleaning products and definitely showcase their sustainability values throughout the company.
