Hey earth muffins! Last month I mentioned that Koala Eco was kind enough to send me a few of their products… When buying fruits and vegetables, it is a good idea to wash them regardless if you purchase them at the grocery store or the farmers market. Once I return from the store, I like to make a pile of my full reusable produce bags and wash mine at once. Koala Eco’s fruit wash is a great option for getting all those pesticides or dirt or whatever else off! Keep reading for all of my thoughts on this product.
What I Love About This Product
As I mentioned in my Koala Eco kitchen cleaner review, I love that this brand is truly eco-friendly. The company definitely bleeds sustainability through and through. The box it is shipped in is recyclable (and even has a cool built in bottle holder so that there is no need for bubble wrap or packing peanuts). The fruit wash itself is biodegradable and the bottles are made of 100% recycled plastic AND are recyclable after use. 🎉
This product also works extremely well! It is a good idea to wash your produce to remove any pesticides, waxes, germs, dirt, etc. While you could always make a DIY wash from vinegar, this is a great store-bought alternative. Once you wash your fruit and veggies, the wash doesn’t leave any sort of aftertaste or residue behind which is awesome.
It is also easy to use:
- In a large bowl, pump in one or two squirts of the wash. It is highly concentrated, so you don’t need a lot!
- Fill the rest of the bowl with water.
- Dump in your fruit/veggies! I typically do one type of produce at a time to ensure I don’t overcrowd the bowl.
- Move the produce around to get the cleaner everywhere. Remove from bowl and rinse thoroughly.
- Store properly in the fridge. 😊
What Could Be Improved
Like with any review on this blog, I’d like to mention price. A 24 oz bottle of this fruit wash will cost you $14. This is obviously more expensive than if you were to use a DIY wash made from vinegar or other items in your pantry. However, this bottle will last a long time since you only use a pump or two each time you wash your vegetables. Seems worth the price to me if you are looking for a store-bought fruit cleaner!
I am really impressed by this fruit wash from Koala Eco! The brand is focused on making high-quality sustainable products; this one works great and is easy to use. While the price is higher than a DIY wash, I think it is still worth it. Have you tried any Koala Eco products yet? Comment below and let me know how you clean your produce!
Love,
Jenna ♥
I actually need something like this, so I am adding it to my shopping list! Thank you for the review!
